Privacy Policy

HeightScope has no accounts, no analytics and no cookies. This page says exactly what the site does with what you type, and where that stops being true.

Calculations run in your browser

The comparison, difference, converter and percentile tools are calculated by code running on the page. The heights, ages and names you type are not sent to a server by that code. The percentile calculator loads the reference table it needs (WHO, CDC or NHANES) from this site, and your inputs are used only inside your browser to look up the result.

PNG export is drawn in your browser and saved to your device. It is not uploaded.

“Share” writes the names, heights and unit of your comparison into the web address, after /compare/?. Anyone you give the link to can read those values. Opening a link sends that address to the web server, as every page request does, so it can appear in the hosting provider’s server logs. Don’t put anything in a name or height that you would not want in a link.

“Share” opens a dialog with the link and buttons for WhatsApp, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit, Telegram and email. Choosing one opens that site (or your mail app) in a new tab with the link and a short message about your comparison already filled in, so the link, your names and your heights go to that third party, under its own privacy policy. HeightScope loads no scripts from those sites and sends nothing to them itself; nothing leaves your browser until you pick one. On devices that offer it, “More…” opens your system share sheet instead.

Once you open a share-link page, your further edits there are also written to the address bar, so that a refresh returns to the same state. Nothing is saved unless you copy or share that address.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no cookies. The only thing it stores on your device is your light or dark theme choice, under the name theme in your browser’s local storage, and only if you pick a theme yourself. You can clear it in your browser settings. Nothing you type into a calculator is stored.

Analytics and third parties

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and the site loads no fonts, scripts or images from other companies. Links to sources such as Wikipedia or the CDC take you to those sites, which have their own policies.

Hosting and server logs

HeightScope is a static website served by a hosting provider. Like any web host, it may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, the page requested and browser type) for security and operations. We do not use those logs to build profiles of visitors. Search engines that crawl the site may collect data under their own policies.
